Dezart Performs' 4th Annual
Play Reading Series "Call for Entries"

Submission Dates: October 15-November 21, 2011

Dezart Performs is currently seeking plays for its 4th Annual Play Reading Series. Submissions are being accepted October 15-November 21, 2011.

The 4th Annual Play Reading Series will be held April 20-28, 2012. During the series, audience members vote for their favorite play. The winning play, named the "Audience Favorite," will be produced and staged at the beginning of Dezart Performs' fifth season in the fall of 2012.

Because of the overwhelming response to our "Call For Entries," selected plays for the 4th Annual Play Reading Series will be announced the week of March 5-9.



Submission Guidelines

  • Plays can be any length, and must use 2-4 actors.
  • Production elements must be kept to a minimum. Preference will be given to plays that have only one setting and no special technical requirements.
  • Plays previously considered for the Annual Play Reading Series will not be accepted.
  • Plays must not have been produced in the Coachella Valley.
  • All submissions must include a cover page with:
    • Play Title
    • A brief synopsis (1-2 paragraphs) of the play and cast requirements
    • Author Name
    • Contact Information
  • Two copies of the script via postal or one PDF for electronic submission.
  • Submissions must be postmarked or emailed by November 21, 2011.
  • Plays will not be returned unless accompanied by a SASE.

Electronic submissions must be paid using the PayPal "Pay Now" button to the left. Following payment confirmation, email script in PDF format to playsubmissions@dezartperforms.com and include the Receipt No. from your PayPal transaction.
